Transportation Guidelines related to COVID-19 Pandemic:

Parents need to have indicated on an attestation form that they:
-Agree to take and record their child's temperature every morning before their child boards the school bus.
Will not let their child board a district school bus if that child has a fever of higher than 100.4
-Will not allow their child to ride the bus again until they have been fever free for 48 hours.
-Will be wearing a mask before boarding the bus.
-While riding the bus, children will properly sit in their assigned seat and follow all bus rules.
-Understand repeated failure to abide by these safety precautions can result in indefinite removal from the bus.
-Must designate 1 bus that will transport child(ren) to and from 1 location.
-No bus passes will be issued by any Walton-Verona school.

In addition to the above students will:
-Wear a mask at all times while on board the school bus.
(Pre-School, Kindergarten, and those who have other accommodations made at the school level, will not be required to wear a mask while on board)
-Will load the bus back to front whenever feasible.
-Will use provided hand sanitizer upon boarding the bus, and before reporting to their assigned seat.

Tips for Transportation:
Review school bus safety with your children regularly.
Wait for the bus a safe distance from the roadway.
Students should not approach the bus before the driver signals them to do so.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their child to and from the bus stop when possible.
Plan with your child what to do in the event of a no one home situation.
Be at the bus stop 5 minutes prior to bus arrival.
Parents or a designee of kindergarten students must be present at the bus stop to receive their children.

Kentucky state law forbids food and drink from being consumed by riders while on the school bus. Students may not carry on any item that they cannot hold in their lap including band instruments and school projects.  Cell phones, games, and other electronic devices may only be used with permission from the driver.

It is our goal to provide every child we transport with the safest and most reliable school transportation possible.  School bus safety is and should be a top priority for everyone including students, parents and schools to make each ride safe and enjoyable for everyone.
