Quest 2019 Seattle, Washington
Quest is a selective academic travel program unique to the Walton-Verona Independent School District. The program has been in existence for over 30 years. The Quest program’s size has allowed for the group to travel to unique locations like NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and the MD Anderson Center in Houston, TX. In 2019, the Quest program went to Seattle. We spent six days exploring new places, gaining new experiences, and interacting with all types of people. To find out more read their article about the trip here (PDF).

WVMS Veterans Day 2019
Walton-Verona Middle School will host our annual Veterans Day Celebration here in the High School Gymnasium on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 beginning at 1:30 p.m. Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors who have served in the military or are currently serving to join us for a day of thanks and remembrance.

This year we are collecting items to donate to the Cincinnati Veterans Hospital. They are in desperate need of personal care items for their long term and hospice residences and their family members who are by their side, as well as the many homeless Veterans they assist every day.

We would like to challenge each student to bring in ONE of the following items to make our donation one of the biggest and best! All you coupon savvy folks, start clipping and if you have a stock-pile in your basement, this would be a great cause to donate some of your personal care items.

Nail Grooming Kits
Disposable Safety Razors
Shampoo & Conditioner
Body Wash
Alcohol-free lotion
Hand Sanitizer
Shaving Cream/Gel
Deodorant (men & women)
Feminine Hygiene Products

Collection boxes will be located in the Library.
Let us work together to help our local veterans in need.

NWEA Resources for Parents
What is the NWEA Assessment? NWEA’s computerized adaptive tests are called Measure of Academic Progress, or MAP. When taking a MAP test, the difficulty of each question is based on how well a student answers all the previous questions.  As the student answers correctly, questions become more difficult.  If the student answers incorrectly, the questions become easier.  In an optimal test, a student answers approximately half the items correctly and half incorrectly.  The final score is an estimate of the student’s achievement level. For NWEA Parent Resources visit this page.

There is also a warmup or practice test you can take at home or school. Link Here.
