School Resource Officer Program (SRO)
The School Resource Officer Program is a collaborative effort by Boone County Sheriffs Department, the Walton-Verona Board of Education, teachers, students, parents, and the communities of Walton and Verona to offer safety and security in the schools while providing law related educational programs in an effort to reduce crime, drug abuse, and violence in schools and communities.
Walton-Verona Elementary SRO
Sheriff Michael Helmig said that he would supply each of the fifteen public elementary schools in the Boone County and Walton-Verona school districts. The armed, sworn deputies started in February 2018 and work school days during school hours for the academic year.
S.T.O.P Tipline
Kentucky Center for School Safety is proud to provide an email tipline to all Kentucky schools.
The Safety Tipline, Online Prevention or S.T.O.P Tipline is designed for use as an "online" reporting/prevention tool. If students, parents or community members know of an unsafe situation in school (bullying, weapons, drugs or alcohol, etc.), they can anonymously pass on that information to school personnel by using this basic email format.
This tipline is not for immediate response. If anyone needs help right away, they should dial 911 for the police. To find Walton-Verona Schools you will need to select Boone County, then in the schools drop down find the Walton-Verona School you are looking for.
Walton-Verona Wellness Committee
Walton-Verona School District promotes stakeholder participation in the development, implementation, review, and modification of the District Wellness policy. Parents, students, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend and participate. For more information contact Rob Hartman, Director of Pupil Personnel
