Special Education

We would like to welcome all of you to the Special Education department web page. We are looking forward to an exciting year.

Communication between home and school is vital to the success of the education of your child. We hope to see you during the many events throughout the school year. Besides events, we want to encourage you to contact us with any questions, comments or concerns you might have. We look forward to working with you and your child.

The special education courses follow the core curriculum courses of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies to the greatest extent possible. Adaptations in texts, selected materials and other resources are planned to meet the needs of the individual students.  In addition, related services including:  speech/language therapy, hearing assistance, assertive technology, occupational and physical therapy, and vocational rehabilitation are provided according to the needs of the students.  Please note that in order to be a part of the special education program, a student must be referred and must meet federal and state eligibility requirements.
